The Amersi Foundation supports the development and production of a Covid Airway PPE screen

The Amersi Foundation is co-funding the development of a prototype “Aerosol Box” PPE screen. The prototype is an adaptation from that of Dr. Hsien Yung Lai in Taiwan, who posted his design online in March.

An example of good practice being shared around the world, this prototype serves two critical needs;

  1. The Covid Airway Screen provides an extra barrier to the COVID-19 virus in addition to standard PPE and,
  2. As emergency protection for healthcare workers in the absence of full personal protective equipment.

The project is a collaboration between Hogan Lovells, Barkston, one of the UK’s premier plastic engineering companies, and the Amersi Foundation. The team is composed of Dr Marion Palmer, Senior Scientist at Hogan Lovells and Declan Costello, ENT Consultant at Wexham Park Hospital in Slough.
